Monster Mayhem is a one-of-a-kind Halloween attraction. In only its second year of operation it has already become one of the more intriguing haunts in Milwaukee. The unique theme should appeal to both adults and kids. Plus, the great location is worth a trip even if you chicken out. I would especially recommend it to people who are tired of traditional haunted houses and looking for something new.
I think there may have been a technical problem or some miscommunication because our tour ended rather abruptly after we stumbled into an access hallway for the staff. One of the actors tried to stay in character as he led us out but he seemed as confused as we were. I wasn’t upset because this happened towards the end of the haunt and I believe we were the last group of the night. The worst part was that I never found out how the story ended after being sucked into the entire theme.

A truely great experience. The actors were so in character that it almost seemed to be real. The props were top-notch, and the overall effect was amazing. The shaking "elevators" added a sense of disorentation that made even the bravest in our group not want to continue untill after regaining their composure. The actors were so convincing, I was expecting them to bite! The mad scientist was great; he had a casual conversation with us while still doing his part for the show. Then there was the alien... (Shudder) Most impressive!
An event worth repeating. I've been to many haunted houses, but this one makes me want to try it again and again. Plus the fact it is under a pizza place is a bonus, too.

This is not your typical Haunt, of boo I scared you.
Very unique story line, and the fact that it is in a celler type fall out shelter basement is very cool.
Actors REALLY into it.
Some chic being ripped apart, we all had to do a double take. Blood and guts looked REAL, and her screaming almost made me want to dial 911.
Lots of great effects, NOT your purchased at a halloween store props.
Awesome makeup work. Very convincing.
Crazy dude glowing, people exploding, elevator rides (in a basement , to cool)
Some funny dude with a mop. (I think I am in love)
Just an all around good time we had.
Hoping to make it again this weekend.

Monster Mayhem, an outbreak experience! The night began with kind of a boring wait, you purchased our tickets and waited, no music, no monsters, but this is to be expected, you are waiting in a pizza parlor after all. Once in, you are led to a dark staiway, where you wait in another line, for a gentleman to get you. Monster Mayhem was very actor and prop heavy. The central theme is an outbreak, and zombie takeover. At times you are rushed by "guards" to get from area to area, this is a great effect, gets the heart pumping. This haunt has two fake elevators that give the effect that you are going down deep into the ground. There is a couple effects that involve getting sprayed with water, always nice when there are physical scares like this. The best part of Mayhem was the giant alien at the end that appears to be an animitronic, you walk by, it follows you! Mayhem was a short, but fun thrill ride!

For such an odd location for a haunted house, the story line they chose really made sense. Since we went on a Sunday night they only had a skeleton crew of workers which I heard was about 1/2 of what they usually have. Sort of disappointing, but still a decent haunt!
Great story line setup in the first room, however the follow thru with the "escaped" person failed. Sorry but glasses - no glasses, hair - no hair.. should have done a little more to make actor/prop look more similar.
Loved the elevators and the hydraulics -- so disorientating! Great special f/x with the props..
Best part was towards the end. All I should say is that I saw something I didn't like, screamed and ran away only to be scared by something else, so I ran back, but saw the original thing that scared me, so I screamed again and ran forward again. My group thought it was too funny.
Wish we would have went when more actors were there - probably would have gotten a higher scare factor. However, great story line and f/x..
Time was a little rushed because we were the last group - the time it took to go through was not worth the $ paid, but the f/x def. made up for some of that.

This was my first visit to Monster Mayhem, and let me tell you they blew me away. I was expecting some small little haunt that wouldn't have many actors. However, that was the complete opposite. From the beginning, they had it set to give you a creepy feeling. Once in the house, they definitely followed through with their theme. It was like being in a secret underground workshop for the government, but you were definitely not supposed to be there. It was very different but very good.

If you enjoy original / custom made special effects, this haunt is for you! Unlike other venues that present a variety of theme based rooms, Monster Mayhem plunges you into a unique story line that I would liken to a mix between Aliens and Resident Evil. What I particularly enjoyed about Monster Mayhem is that you don't just see and hear scary things....you actually get to FEEL them on a few occasions!
The superb acting, special effects and detailed story line at Monster Mayhem make for a very enjoyable experience. While every scene won't motivate you to run for the hills there are a few rooms that may make you jump. As a result, I gave this attraction a 5 out of 5 on the fun scale and a 3.5 out of 5 on the scare factor. This is definitely a haunt for all ages and not just adults.
If your into evaluating haunts with your senses you might find this helpful:
* Sight: Custom designed sets and special effects were top notch! See creatures blow up. Watch as the skin is ripped off a dying actor. Peak over the side railing and get a feel for how far the cavern descends.
* Sound: Solid! The sound in every room won't blow you away like some haunts but you certainly won't be disappointed. The element of sound is certainly leveraged to provide a few good scares!
* Smell: Nothing special on this front...although there are haunts that venture into this realm.
* Touch: Outstanding! If a creature blows up right in front of your face shouldn't you feel it? You do here!!

I went last night with a friend to check out a different haunt. It was ok. There was room for improvment. I didnt like that the girl in the first elevator was not in character at all. she just stared at us with a plain look the whole time. and on top of that she wasnt in costume. like she had blood on her face with a t shirt and a jacket. it didnt take that long to go through. i was slightly disappointed.
although it wasnt that long and not worth 12 dollar although its cheap the story line was on pace throughout the haunt. and it could use more advertising.

This is a haunted house located in the basement of a LARGE pizza pub/diner. You buy a ticket and if there is a big line you can hang out at the premises until its your turn to enter the haunt.
The acting at this haunted house is top notch, all the way through. There are a lot of adults working here which is always more scary than teen and pre-teens booing at you. They really created a theme and stick with it. I would describe this theme as Experiment Gone Wrong in a Resident Evil sort of way. I was IMPRESSED! Soldiers throwing their lives away to try to save you from the monsters within, a major surprise involving a 12 foot alien creature, a realistic hellavator ride, and sneaky elements of surprise are a few examples of what is in store for patrons.
My favorite part of this attraction was the acting. The acting was top notch compared to bigger haunts with larger budgets. This is a very creative haunt and its clear the people who operate it love what they do and want happy customers.
I only gave this a 4/5 for fear. I am very hard to scare but I did scream once and had an incredibly fun time even if the fear factor wasn't as high as some other houses. This does however, make it appeal to wider audiences that are looking more to be scared in a fun way than to have to quit halfway through.
In summary, I believe this attraction would especially be great for a family with not TOO young of children that wants a fun Haunted House evening. It is also sure to please even a haunted house veteran with some of the surprises that are in store. A huge asset to this place is that everything is indoors, the wait AND the attraction. It's already pretty cold out and if you want to avoid waiting 2 hours in line outside, this is the place to come to. Not only is it nice and warm inside, there are things to do on site so you are not just standing in a line all night. There's a bar on one side of the restaurant and a large 50's themed pizzeria on the other side that can make pizzas larger than your table (if you're really hungry!). I also noticed an arcade section with a bunch of games.
The haunted attraction is in the basement of this restaurant/bar, but don't let that fool you. This is a BIG place, not some corner pizza joint. They really make use of their space too. I highly recommend this attraction for its indoor perks and enthusiastic staff.
