Signage / Visibility / Location
Right on the corner of 15th and Forest Home. Look for the lights and listen for the creepy circus music.
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
Wait area is outdoors. Circus music, evil clowns and an overall malevolent carnival feel certainly set the anxiety.
Most Unique
Freakshow is cool. The vortex is trippy and the ringmaster is fantastic. The option to choose left or right is also unique.
Actors' Performance
Ok, this is what I have to say about the actors and that's all: they get off on scaring you to death!
Appropriate For
15+
Summary
Gilly has done it again. He loves to scare his guests and hires actors that feel the same. One of the evil clowns in the house, Craig, will do whatever is necessary for you to soil yourself. Beware.

Signage / Visibility / Location
Well lit and you could hear the circus music.
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
It was to have a covered wait area because it was pouring down that night. No entertainment but a couple of ticket takers in costume were really nice and talkative.
Most Unique
The vortex tunnel knocked me off my feet. I had to stop half way because it felt like you were spinning out of control...really wicked!! The choose you own fate doors definetly has me returning this weekend so I can enter the other room.
Actors' Performance
Very much in character!! They did great coordinating their movements to the strobe light. One moment there was nothing then BAM they were in your face!! They kept us track thru the darkness without breaking character.
Appropriate For
13 & up
Summary
I'm a grown woman but when that blank doll faced girl came out of nowhere on me I almost peed my pants. My guy is still creeped out cuz she followed him for minute just staring that blank stare with her dagger in hand. Gilly's is easily the best and the scarest thus far.

Summary
This in my opinion was the best haunted place I have been to yet. Ive been to several. This place really sets a high standard for other haunted places. This could very easily be number 1 in Wisconsin. Actors were great. Gilly the clown and the dog was my favorite. The tunnel in the beginnig was really cool, it felt like the bridge was actually moving. This was definatelly a job well done. Whoever created this one really poured alot of heart work and imagination in it.

Signage / Visibility / Location
Given that it was dark as a deacon's hat and pouring rain, Gilly's was still pretty easy to find, but I kinda knew the area. (Forest Home is an angle street and it's easy to get turned around.) There were big banners on the fence and a painted mini bus was parked across the street.
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
We arrived about 10 minutes before they opened and there were a few people taking shelter under an awning by a creepy clown. We waited in the car until 7. The haunted circus itself is in a lot adjacent to an apparent florest/greenhouse shop. We were moved under a larger shelter with sides once it was opened. Very little entertainment, but the people were friendly even though it was a crummy night.
Most Unique
Being able to "choose your fate." A great way to get people to go through twice to try the other way out! Also, the black and white room with the girl! My fiance (the other halloweenie) is still freaked over her.
Actors' Performance
The actors were very convincing. A couple times I was paying very close to a figure, trying to figure out if it was a person or not. Most of the actors simply wore masks, but their acting was pretty effective with growling and creepy voices. They also let you know if you're going the wrong way while remaining in character.

Summary
A little too much use of stobe lights. I know it helps cover up costume/room flaws and in several rooms it was VERY effective, but my eyes started to hurt after awhile and even later that night. A fun, effective, "home-grown" kind of haunted house.

Pretty good once I found forest Home ave, you cant really miss it.
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
Not much of a wait, little entertainment.
Most Unique
The Vortex awsome, I have seen and been through others but this one was right on, however the entire theme of the house was great, it messed with my mind alot.
Actors' Performance
Wow, Wow, And wow again, you cant say enough about it.

Signage / Visibility / Location
Easy to find in a not-so-good neighborhood. You can hear the circus music for miles around, and signs are all over the front.
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
We didn't have to wait; there wasn't entertainment, just the music
Most Unique
The circus theme was cool, and carried out throughout the house. The vortex tunel was amazing. I'd play in it all day if I could.
Actors' Performance
I mean it in the best way: Where do they find these people? The actors were totally in character the whole time. None of the generic "Boos" and "groans" you get at usual haunted houses. They interact with you. You get a show, not just a scare.
Appropriate For
10+
Summary
This place doesn't have the budget some other houses do, but they have the actors and the creativity those other houses lack. If they commit to the circus theme even more next year(like more freaks and clowns), it'd definately be the scariest haunt around.

Signage / Visibility / Location
I map quested it, so I found it really easy. But once you get onto Forest Home you can't miss it!
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
They had a happy clown and a happy kitty outside. That was it for the entertainment.
Most Unique
The 20 ft vortex tunnel was cool. The pick your own way made me want to go again just to see what was to the right (we went left). And the freak show was definetly the best.
Actors' Performance
The actors were awesome! Very very creepy! The freak show ring leader guy was the best!

Summary
I went with my older brother. And he said this was the scariest haunted hause that he's been to yet. I was a little disapointed that it was a haunted circus and there was not even one evil clown inside! I'm coulrophobic, but that's what makes the haunted houses so scary to me! Also I thought it was a little short. We went out the exit and I remember saying "that was it?". It didn't seem like it was 20 minutes to me.

Signage / Visibility / Location
A little confusing because we didn't know the area well. The clown music can be heard a block away as well as throughout the house, Im sure the neighbors love it. Its pretty obvious once you drive by the flower shop its located in.
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
Just one clown who told us she would not go in the house because it was too scary. That was a good start. There was no one else in line. (The cold is no excuse to stay home, it was friday the 13th)
Most Unique
The vortex tunnel was the best part. We spent some extra time getting disoriented in it. The freak show was very cool, but individual lights on each part would have been great.
Actors' Performance
They did their job well. It seemed like most of them had been doing it a while and knew how to act. The clown giving the rules was weirdly creepy and had a hatchet. The ringmaster in the freakshow was by far the best. Give the man an emmy.
Appropriate For
13+
Summary
At one point you choose either left or right. Which is great, but we went right and there was just one person in it. The left looked pretty cool, but the grass is always greener. A good house when the lines elsewhere get long. No chainsaws.

Signage / Visibility / Location
1559 Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee, WI
Wait Area / Line Entertainment
We didn't have a long wait at all, it was early in the evening.
Most Unique
The theme of a haunted circus is very different and very creepy! I loved the way the Freak Show was set up.
Actors' Performance
The actors at this haunted house were very professional and "in character" the whole time. The actual scare factors in this house go beyond the standard darkness and mazes, and a lot of it has to do with the characters the actors played.
Appropriate For
12 and up
Summary
The tour was about 20 minutes long and I felt like we got our money's worth. There wasn't a lot of time wasted in stupid mazes. The scenes are more cerebrally creepy versus blood and gore, though there was plenty of it. I really liked this one!
