Disregarding me previous post here. I went on the "Grand Opening" Since the first date they had up to go was rained out. This year it felt as if they either didn't get enough actors or just weren't trying. And even on their grand opening night they weren't selling any cider which i brought a few extra dollars for afterwards. Me and my friend had gone thinking it would be like last year, but they had removed a lot of props, light setups, fog effects, etc. It felt like a 45 minute walk with about 20 actors in there. I got a comment from one of the actors the next day saying only the weekends a lot of the actors showed up but i decided not to go 3 times this year.
Feels like a shorter walk, less actors, not as scary or fun.

A group of 8 of us drove out to Janesville and Stoughton for a great night of haunting. I was most excited by the idea of an hour long haunted forest walk. Unfortunately, a long walk was about all we got. There was almost nothing here. I know that outdoor haunts can be challenging, due to the need to run power, etc., but this didn't even seem like anyone was trying. We still had fun, but they really need to put some work in to this haunt if they want it to be successful.
Not much here.....

Sorry to say this is not the same Forest of Freaks from the Zombie apocalypse. That was one of the best haunts I have ever attended. The new forest of freaks is missing the same zing and scare factor that it used to carry. The theatrics are also not up to par. After walking through the woods for 45 minuets we interacted with maybe 15 characters and several of those being small children. The new sets were average at best. They had some great ideas but did not pull them off.
The staff is friendly and courteous and wants you to have a good time.
Forest of freaks needs to return to their former glory to achieve the return business. We drove almost an hour to attend that incredible event from two years ago and it simply did not live up to its full potential.

I know this is supposed to be for 2013 only, but i will probably be posting a new review after i go next week. This is for anyone who hasn't gone yet. Last year was amazing, they have a really cool waiting area with the bonfires and refreshments (with purchase). Throughout the whole thing was a ton of great actors and good costumes/make-up and such. Last year the theme was based off of "The Walking Dead" which was played out great with a nice taste of a storyline throughout the whole thing. There was also many props that were really well made/put together. It was extremely fun and suspenseful and they also (usually) have a couple actors walking around in the waiting area which ends of having people running making for a good show. It took about 30-45 minutes to get through last year although depending on fast you ran or walked made up a big part. It's really fun considering you have an urge to go back after your done. Based of their website they've improved the time and changed up the storyline this year. Overall, 9/10. I Would recommend going!

Tons of fun and great with groups. Good waiting area and actors, along with props and storyline.
