How it works:
Run for your life in a 3 K dash to escape the Zombie SPARTApocalypse!
Humans will be given two lives (flag football flags with belt) to tie around your waist. If you lose two flags, continue to finish the race and be sure turn in your belt to receive your haunted house pass! If you survive the apocalypse and are the first human to cross the finish line, you'll receive 2 Spook VIP Passes and become the SPARTApocalypse Survivor!
Want to be a zombie? Zombies will chase runners while trying to collect as many flags as possible. The zombie with the most flags will be named King (or Queen) of the Zombies!
This is a NON-TIMED event intended purely for an apocalyptic good time...If you're not a runner, or not competitive, don't be afraid to give it a try.

LOCATION
This race is located in the Sparta Memorial Park area, including River Run Golf Course.
DIRECTIONS
When you get to Sparta, follow the lime green House of Shadows signs until you reach the intersection of Montgomery Street and Rusk Avenue/Highway 21. At the intersection, go south to Pine Street. Take a left on Pine Street, entering the Memorial Park complex. You will pass Lakeview Montessori, and parking will be on the left-hand side of the road. We suggest arriving early and checking the Memorial Park parking lot, located just off of Pine Street, near the baseball diamonds, or the Sparta Pool Parking Lot.

The House of Shadows is an interactive haunted attraction/fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta. We take a "reportedly haunted" former infirmary of the Wisconsin State Child Center and turn it into a haunted house each year for your spooktacular pleasure.
