About

Meet more than Pete, since the Orpheum seems to be one of the most haunted spots in the city. There's the mysterious "night manager" as well, who's dangling keys can be hear jingling from his belt as he walks the halls.

Discover Timothy Hergor, the local magician who used to book acts and perform at the Capitol Theatre inside the Overture Center on State Street. When one of Timothy’s romantic overtures failed, he hung himself from the lighting grid on the stage in the 1920s. And that stage hasn’t been the same since…
Who haunts the Wisconsin State Capitol? Is it the ghost of the man who killed himself in the basement? Or perhaps it's the spirits of the workmen killed in the construction accident of the South Wing?
Meet more spooky friends as we travel up and down Madison’s most popular entertainment district.

Itinerary:

Orpheum Theatre
With ghosts ranging from strange mists to the “night manager”, the Orpheum Theatre is one of the most haunted spots in the city.

Overture Center
From phantom pipe organs to ghost dancers on the stage, this spectacular theater doesn’t shirk on the spirits.

Wisconsin State Capitol
Designated a National Historic Landmark, this gorgeous building by law is the tallest structure in downtown Madison. And its halls contain plenty of secrets and spooks.

Boar & Barrel
This building was the site of a strange prophecy.

The Loraine Condominiums
This Tudor Revival building was finished in 1924 and it was named after the developer’s niece who passed away while it was being built. What phantoms have people encountered in this historic former hotel?

Madison Masonic Temple
The Masons are often shrouded in secrecy, but they opened up to us about hauntings of their Madison location.

Grain Exchange Building
How does this building connect to one of America’s Founding Fathers and what is the ghost story people have experienced here?
