About Us

HauntedWisconsin.com was started by the husband & wife team of Andy and Jennifer Meier in the spring of 2000.

The idea for HauntedWisconsin.com began in 1998 after looking for haunted houses and viewing several sites that listed haunted attractions throughout the U.S. Most of these sites provided little information, and the information that was provided was usually out-of-date and had no information on how to contact the haunts.

After finding some other states had state specific haunted house directories, but none in Wisconsin, we decided to start HauntedWisconsin.com.

In the beginning, our only goal was only to provide up-to-date information on haunted houses in Wisconsin. However, since that time the site has grown considerably and new goal is to keep the Halloween spirit alive in Wisconsin. We've done this by providing information on additional local Halloween events and happenings like our lists of pumpkin patches, trick-or-treat dates, times and safety tips, and visitor submitted reviews.

To help manage the site, Dan Strelecki was brought on board in 2006 to help out with promotions and manage our new Review Crew. Dan is taking a break during the 2010 to spend more time with his newly expanded family. In 2009, we brought Johnny Ramos on board as a staff member. Johnny came to the site in 2006 with our Review Crew and helped provide information on local Halloween stores before that.

None of us have ever owned, operated or worked for any haunts. We all have full time jobs outside of the site, but enjoy working on Haunted Wisconsin in our spare time because we all LOVE HALLOWEEN and are proud to say that we are committed to being Wisconsin's source for everything Halloween in Wisconsin!

Promotions Manager (On sabbatical) Dan Strelecki (a.k.a.: Lysergicerberus, a.k.a Grandpa) Dan is currently taking a sabbatical from HauntedWisconsin.com as he focuses on his newly expanded family and other matters.
